A direct descendant of the OD-1, a long-selling pedal for over 25 years! This is a 1985 model.

It employs the asymmetrical overdrive circuit inherited from the OD-1, and is newly equipped with a tone control that allows for high-frequency boost/cut. Due to detailed circuit modifications, it has a slightly higher gain and more solid tone compared to the OD-1. It can create a sweet and mild distortion without sacrificing subtle picking nuances. The installed op-amp is the JRC4558DD (matte finish), although other versions exist, such as the NEC C4558C' used in very early models and the JRC4558D used around 1982. The SD-1 was manufactured domestically until mid-1989, after which the production line moved to Taiwan.
