Authentic Touch

Yamaha's Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) action has a heavier touch in the lower register and a lighter touch in the upper register, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. Ideal for the aspiring pianist, practicing the GHS action develops the correct finger technique for when the time comes to play an acoustic piano. In addition, the matte finish of the black keys is less slippery when playing for extended periods.

Classic Yamaha Sound Engine

Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) sampling uses digital technology to record the sound of an acoustic piano. AWM stereo sampling creates a deeper, richer, and more spacious sound by using pairs of waveforms (L and R) captured with two microphones. The P-45 uses AWM to play one sample per key at different volume and timbre levels.

Simple One-Button Operation

Various settings on the P-45 can be changed with a single button. Press and hold the "GRAND PIANO / FUNCTION" button and press the keyboard to change voices, play demo sources, set the metronome, and more.
