The next evolution of Firebirds

The new Futura Series guitars from Epiphone are designed for today’s guitarists who want a guitar that delivers professional performance and forward-thinking features. These Inspired by Gibson models deliver tone and style that’s perfect for gigging, recording, or content creation in the modern era. With bold, color-shifting finishes, all-new pickups, and versatile electronic features like coil splitting and phase switching, they have the look and sound that today’s players need to stand out from the crowd and make their own statement, both sonically and visually. Other high-performance features, including stainless steel frets, compound-radius fretboards, and ultra-comfortable neck profiles, make the Futura Series guitars truly innovative and a must-have addition for any guitar collection.

The Gibson Firebird™ remains one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable shapes in the electric guitar world. Originally conceived by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, its bold lines drew inspiration from classic car styling and the Gibson Explorer™. Epiphone proudly introduces the Futura Firebird Custom—a modern interpretation of a design that was revolutionary when it debuted in 1963. Its sculpted mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding and a contoured back for enhanced comfort. A LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece deliver rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Posi-Lok™ strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The glued-in mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and striking Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10”-14” compound radius ensures smooth chording and effortless bends. The bound Reverse Firebird headstock is fitted with locking Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and a Firebird truss rod cover bearing the Epiphone logo.

Powering the Futura Firebird Custom are a pair of Epiphone’s new ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers™, delivering punchy, articulate tone with plenty of headroom. Push/pull volume and tone controls unlock coil-splitting and phase options for maximum versatility. Available in four stunning Chromashift finishes—Firestorm Shift, Quicksilver Shift, and Midnight Ember Shift—this guitar is designed to turn heads on stage or on screen. Whether you’re after a modern aesthetic, a wide tonal palette, or an instrument that performs like a pro, the Futura Firebird Custom is ready to elevate your music. Each one ships with a premium gig bag, so it’s prepared to go wherever your creativity takes you.
