Malcolm Toft Equate 8-Channel EQ (Trident 80B Lineage) - MINT - Original Box

Dramatically downsizing to help fund farm operations. Listing more than 40 pieces in the coming days. Please check my other listings.

If you are looking at this, you might already know what a unicorn this piece of gear is. If you don't, here is the short version: Malcolm Toft is the legend behind Trident Audio. This unit is essentially 8 channels of the classic Trident Series 80 console EQ in a single 3U rack, built by Malcolm's team in England. I bought this brand new from Front End Audio with a massive goal in mind: I have a 32-channel interface and I wanted to integrate serious analog outboard gear into my hybrid workflow without spending $50,000 on a vintage console. But I recently had a change of plans and am now liquidating most of the gear I was planning on building out. I used it exactly one time. The EQUATE 8 is currently backordered at most major retailers, so this is your chance to grab a basically brand-new unit without the wait.

Why this unit is special:

Beyond getting 8 channels of that legendary British EQ for this price (which is virtually impossible to do even with 500-series modules), the architecture is brilliant.

• The Filters: Unlike the original console, every channel has both High Pass and Low Pass filters. It allows you to clean up the mud and the fizz before you hit your converters. It is the ultimate tool for tracking drums.
• The Control: You get +/- 15dB on four bands, with fully sweepable High-Mid and Low-Mid frequencies.
• The Layout: If you run 500-series gear, the spacing on this unit is designed to align perfectly with a standard 500-series chassis, so you can visually line up your preamps with these EQs to create a seamless "console" workflow.

Let me know if you have any questions. As I mentioned above doing serious liquidation to help support the horse sanctuary so will be listing a lot in the upcoming days.

re: RETURNS
I have noticed in recent years here and on other sites there seems to be an increase of buyers that purchase an item, practically invent some sort of problem or issue, and then hold the seller's feedback ransom to get a few bucks back for free.  That is why I am making it perfectly clear in my listings that I do not accept returns. Please ask all questions up front (additional condition details, request more pictures, etc.). However, if you check my feedback both here and on a popular auction site ( jmarsh45 ) you will see that I have a perfect 100% feedback rating of over 1,500 across both platforms over the past 25+ years (yes…since the late 1990s).  I take my feedback and my gear very seriously even though I am a hobbyist. So please know that if there is a genuine problem, I am sure we can work something out. Just reach out before or after with any questions or issues.
