Gibson Style A mandolin made in 1916. Serial # appears to be 38392. The mandolin is fairly clean, and all original. Plays and sounds good. Neck straight and the action low. Two things need to be pointed out. The back has shifted over the years. At the bottom and at the neck heel. Does not appear to be open. Body is crack free. There's also a line on the back of the neck. Hard to tell if it was a shallow repair crack from years ago, or not. You can not feel it. I think it's a line (defect) running thru the wood. Regardless, its not an issue. Fingerboard and frets good. Some minor fret wear at the first three positions. Original tuners work fine. Original case is clean, but needs a handle.
