Here is a bass you don’t see everyday. Oddly, the Ibanez “Custom”-model 2387B- aka Rocket Roll bass predates Gibson’s Flying V bass. When I bought the bass it came with this nicely made wood leg “rest”. I found a replacement rubber for it but I did not do a great job cutting it to fit. This rubber replacement is readily available on line and very inexpensive. The bass also had two holes where a previous owner had added some additional strap button options. My amazing luthier filled these holes with grain matched Ash wood. This bass has the normal play wear (dings in finish) I expect to see in a nearly 50 year old instrument. I also had the original case’s handle replaced. This bass plays and sounds so good. I love the positioning of the Precision neck pickup. It creates a much more honky/throaty tone, compared to a Precision bass. And the “jazz” bridge pickup does what you’d expect-bright/punchy Jaco sound. But the sweet spot is the middle position (both pickups-blending together) w/ independent volume controls, for your perfect combination of sounds. I am a vintage Ibanez junky. This is a must have for a collector or someone that is serious about really rocking out! Please check out my other listings. Several amazing bass’. Act fast, cause this instrument is also listed on social platforms in the Seattle (PNW) region.
