1940s Supro Supreme Hawaiian Model 1400 Steel Guitar, Lap Steel OCBC

Serial Number: V2742, Oginal Case and Cord

CONDITION: We listed it as "Very Good" Condition but it it is escellent. Showing little wear, no abuse and no damage. We changed out the Tuners but have the original ones. It will include the Original CAse and the Original Cord as well. It plays and sounds wonderful.

The guitar features a nice wide string spacing that makes single-string hammer-ons and pull-offs very comfortable. The guitar is very light in weight and pretty resonant. At this point they were hard-wiring the cord right into the guitar with a nifty spring strain relief on the plug. This guitar has a brighter sound than the Gretsch & Fenders of the same era because it has that vintage "thang" going on that some call "Mojo." Supro was one of several brands made by parent company Valco during its life from 1935-1968. You'll rarely see a guitar actually branded "Valco," though they made all the guitars branded Supro, National, and Oahu as well as a host of guitars labeled with store brands for Sears, Montgomery Ward, and others.

HISTORY: Vintage 1940's Supro Supreme Gray Lap Steel in good condition, featuring a single-coil pickup for warm, classic tones. Its sleek gray pearloid finish and chrome hardware capture authentic '50s style, while the 22.5" scale and fixed bridge offer smooth playability. This iconic lap steel delivers rich sustain and is perfect for blues, country, or rock. Whether on stage or in the studio, it’s a must-have piece for collectors and musicians alike.
