Beautiful, 1960's Gretsch Round Badge Progressive Jazz Kit in a one-of-a-kind, broken-glass silver glitter, gorgeously aged to an even ginger-ale tone. All original and in excellent condition, these drums sing. Normal age wear on finish and pitting on hardware that gives it true vintage character. Amazing sound on the shells and a crisp, dark and complex snare drum tone. Truly a jazz dream kit both in looks and sound. So many classic jazz records were recorded with drums just like these, you can hear it in the tone. Art Blakey's Messengers albums, Elvin Jones doing Love Supreme and other Coltrane cuts, Tony Williams with the Miles Davis Quintet, Max Roach, and many other greats.

Original bass drum spurs, floor tom legs and includes great, padded bags for all drums. I've owned this kit for about 25 years now, and aside from a couple of jazz dates around 10 years ago, it has only seen home and studio use. As is expected with vintage Gretsch drums, regular modern heads will fit a bit tight.Bearing edges are in really good condition as seen in the photos.
