I am the second owner of this 1962 Gretsch Round Badge set. I purchased it in Chicago. The original color was aqua satin flame. I didn't like how the wrap looked nor felt. The sizes are 14 x 20, 9 x 13, and 14 x 14 with legs. I stripped the wrap and refinished it by hand to a burgundy finish that allows the wood grain to show through.

The serial numbers for each of the drums are shown in the photos. I changed the rail mounting system and put on a Yamaha tom post on the kick and a Yamaha tom mount on the rack. I am including a ball and socket tom arm. I replaced the original hoops with two blond hoops. The set includes the original spurs and one of the badges. The interiors are still in the original gray and the rack tom and floor tom contain the original die cast hoops. I am including the original two, 20" bass drum hoops.

This is not a really a set for a museum collector. This is a well-functioning kit that looks good and can be used for any style of music in the real world. If you want a kit that combines a vintage legacy along with a contemporary musical use, this may be the kit for you. If you want to restore it to the original, that's always an option.
