Vintage 1942 Epiphone Electar Lap Steel Guitar w/ Original Hardshell Case!

Up for sale is this vintage 1942 Epiphone Electar lap steel guitar. This one is a playable project with some parts missing, so please be sure to read the entire description and see all of the photos. It is being offered "AS IS".

This one is missing the pickup cover, logo badge, patent badge, and knobs. The tuners and one pot are not original and the nut has been shaved on the top for no apparent reason, but it functions fine. The flathead screws that mount the bridge have been messed with at some point and one side is missing on each so there's no good way to remove them (not that would would need to). The back cover and neck rest are both present and in good condition and the pickup does work as it should. The volume control works as it should while the tone control also acts as a volume, so that will need to be addressed if it bothers you.

Cosmetically, it's pretty rough with numerous scuffs, scratches, and dings. The white covering on top is peeling around the edges where it has shrunken over the years. Overall, it could use a good cleaning.

The original hardshell case is included and is in surprisingly nice condition for its age. It does show heavy wear, but is completely intact with the exception of a few minor edge separations that can easily be glued up with all of the latches and hinges functioning as they should. The original handle is still present as well.

Overall, it's not mint or even all that nice, but it's a great vibey lap steel that's closing in on ninety years old and it is functional and affordable, what more can you really ask for?
