The origin of the Gibsono round shoulder jumbo model, the "Jumbo Flat Top", was Gibson's first jumbo model, released in 1934 to compete with Martin's D model. However, sales of the "Jumbo" were poor, so a cheaper model was released in 1936. That was the "J-35". The "J-35" ended its short history after just under seven years of production, and its short history was closed with the transition to the still famous "J-45". However, the "J-35" was a model that underwent multiple specification changes in a short period of time, with multiple bracing patterns and various trial and error in the sound. It is still popular as a model for connoisseurs with many core fans, including vintage fans, players, and guitar luthiers. This instrument is the "J-35 Vintage Collector's Edition", a special reprint of the "J-35" as a limited edition model for 2017. A superb used item made in 2017. Thermally aged Dirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rectangular bridge, long saddle, script head logo, Grover open back pegs, MOP fingerboard dot inlays, single ring rosette, fire stripe pickguard, wide neck, hand scalloped X-bracing. Crisp and well-defined sound. Jumbo's characteristic hollow box sound is different from that of the "J-45". It has a punch and a dry tone that is pleasant to listen to. There are very slight scratches and scuffs that can be seen when held up to the light, but there are no major or noticeable scratches and it is in good condition. There are no cracks and it is in good condition. The neck is also in good condition and the action is easy to play. A well-crafted "J-35" that is one class above the rest. It is a recommended guitar that allows you to enjoy the Gibson style and high-class construction. Original hard case included
