2001 Gibson Custom Shop ‘59 Reissue Les Paul Murphy Aged Lemon Burst with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is all original, other than one pot which needed to be replaced, and like new condition. Because it’s factory aged, it’s difficult to tell what was the original wear and additional. It comes with absolutely everything, including: Certificate of Authenticity, Dealers Package, hang-tags, polish cloth, picks, checklist, Historic Reissue Package, and original Gibson Custom Shop Hardshell Case. 

This guitar is 1 of 38 that were made with the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards, confirmed serial number in the Limited Edition Series. This is a 2001 as well making it from the “good wood era” which has yet to be rivalled by any new Gibson production. The guitar weighs around 8.5lbs and has all the appointments of the original ‘59 Les Paul, factory relic excluded. 

I believe this finish was called Lemon Burst. This model comes with Gibson Custom Shop Aged ‘57 PAF Humbuckers which live up to what a real ‘50s Gibson should sound like. Accompanied by all its other stand out features is the absolutely gorgeous Flamed Maple Top and Brazilian Rosewood Fingerbaord. Any attempt to describe how perfect it plays and sounds would be an injustice to this piece so I’m not even going to try.

Provenance for this guitar can be found online including past sales. Simply put, this is the finest crafted instrument I’ve ever had in my hands and is a fine piece of Gibson history.
