CONCEROTONE 4 Head 3 Motor 7" portable Vacuum TUBE Reel Tape Recorder. First Berlandt, then Concertone, then TEAC - In the beginning the company focused on portable field reel recorders, meant to be used "on location" to capture live performances for broadcast. This Concertone deck is made ultra rugged, similar in technology to later TEAC decks. At the time this was made, vacuum tubes were common technology, so: it is basically comparable to a TEAC deck based on Vacuum tubes, but even more rugged and fitted in a rugged portable aluminum case. Get vintage analog vacuum tube audio recording at it's best! It also has an additional switchable head to facilitate switching between half track and quarter track play back.

Working Condition: Unknown - not tested yet -> typically due to age: needs a complete refurb job, if to perform well and to continue to work reliably is the goal. Estimate for a detail oriented, complete quality job: expect $2250-$2700 - Or: we could look into what it will take to get it to fully working condition, which will be considerably less, but will be at the expense of reliability - aged parts that need replacement would not have been replaced, which means: could fail at any time, as aged and beyond their life expectancy - Talk to me: I'll be glad to refurbish it for you - If into recording with a vintage tube deck: -> Talk to me for details, more photos etc. I have 2 of these decks - see my other listing as well.

Physical Condition: good (see photos) - with visible signs of use and age, including scratches, dulling, dis-coloring, dings, blemishes, etc. - actual photos shown. More photos upon request.

Lot: Concertone 505 Tube Reel to Reel recorder in aluminum casing with removable lid - as found - untested

Purchase Agreement - All Sales are: "AS-IS”, FINAL - and: not returnable: LET’s do all that is needed to make sure to get you exactly what you need - BEFORE your purchase (Not returnable)! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS - I am here to assist. All items are used and VINTAGE - sold "AS-IS" (-> vintage = often 50 years old!!!) and even with the best of refurb / repair work STILL CAN FAIL) and thus is sold without warranty or guarantees of any kind (AS-IS). I aim to perform all work that I foresee necessary, to provide equipment in well and reliably working condition - refurbish in as much detail as possible - and test thoroughly, to gain confidence through testing, to predict that it will last, but once work complete, it is still possible that something can go or be wrong with it (vintage) - Prices of items offered here reflect the work that went into a given piece of gear until it is listed, but cannot cover what a given piece may need in the future - that would be at your risk and expense - If there are defects, problems or shortcomings: likely I can repair, but it will be at additional cost - I do service what I sell at my regular shop rate. Any shipping costs responsibility of the buyer.
