Aphex Model 107 Dual-Channel Tube Microphone Preamplifier w/ Tubessence Technology, Power Supply

For sale is the Aphex Model 107, a dual-channel tube microphone preamplifier renowned for its warm, detailed sound and versatile functionality. Utilizing Aphex's patented "Tubessence" technology, this preamp combines a solid-state front end with a low-voltage tube gain stage, delivering the sonic characteristics of traditional tube amplification while maintaining low noise and extended tube life. Each of the two independent channels offers up to 64dB of gain, accommodating a wide range of microphones and recording scenarios.

The front panel features XLR inputs for easy access, along with essential controls including a 20dB pad, phase invert switch, 80Hz low-cut filter (12dB/octave), and a continuously variable gain knob. Each channel is equipped with independently switchable 48V phantom power, indicated by a red LED, ensuring compatibility with condenser microphones. Additionally, signal presence and overload LEDs provide visual monitoring to prevent clipping. The rear panel offers impedance-balanced 1/4" TRS outputs with selectable +4dBu or -10dBV operating levels, enhancing integration with various audio interfaces and recording equipment.

This unit has been meticulously maintained, with all pots, jacks, and switches cleaned to ensure flawless operation across all functions and controls. Cosmetically, it exhibits minor signs of wear consistent with its age, but all labeling remains clear and legible. Whether you're seeking to add warmth to vocal recordings, enhance instrument tracks, or achieve a classic analog character in your digital setup, the Aphex Model 107 stands as a reliable and sonically pleasing solution for both studio and live applications.
