Straight from our Carmine Appice Drum and Cymbals Collection. In great condition. This prototype cymbal is from another phase of the development of what was to become Carmine's signature model China cymbal. Carmine left this cymbal heavily taped up.
Carmine was one of the first rock drummers to incorporate Chinese cymbals into his drum set. His two large china cymbals mounted high in front of his drum kit were impossible to miss. He is largely responsible for popularizing the China cymbal on the modern drum set.
This 19.5" China is a prototype made in the development of Carmine's signature series Sabian China cymbals. Really aggressive with amazing tone, and cutting power. It has no marking except for the Sabian logo, and Carmine's autograph.
This is a great piece of Carmine Appice, Sabian and Rock 'n' Roll history.
