Gibson ES-335 DOT Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1987), made in Nashville, TN, serial # 80747601, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 3/8 in. (105.1 cm.), 15 15/16 in. (40.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This now 37 year old guitar has been played a bit but remains very clean, all original and well-cared for showing only a little wear overall. The lovely ambered natural finish shows mostly very minor dings, scuffs, and dents with one noticeable dink on the back of the neck behind the 12th fret. There are a few spots along the edge of the lower horn binding where some sort of color has leeched into the finish, but these are very small. The pickguard has some light scuffing and the nickel plating has some minor corrosion, most noticeable on the bridge and pickup covers. The original frets show hardly any wear.

This ES-335 DOT model is one of Gibson's best 1980s instruments, a really nice re-issue of the original 1958-9 ES-335 with a few more modern touches (most notable the Grover Rotomatic tuners many of the originals had added in the 70s). This blonde one has the classic look of the most desired original variant and carries a cool Dave Edmunds vibe, if you're old enough to remember! It has a great feeling chunky neck and plays and sounds beautifully for just about any style. The black Gibson case is fairly clean overall and intact; we usually see brown Tolex cases with these but this set appears to have been together for a long time. Overall Excellent Condition.
