Here’s something you don’t often see in this finish: a nicely preserved 1967 Gibson Barney Kessel Standard in Walnut! Barney Kessel was among a few artists Gibson sponsored at the beginning of the 60s, along with Trini Lopez and Tal Farlow, who all received signature guitar models. The Barney Kessel models feature a 25-½” scale length, perfect for players who prefer the Fender scale length but with a preference for the Gibson feel. This guitar originally had Kluson tuners, but the guitar currently sports Grover Imperial tuners. You can tell this by the slight impression left by the older klusons. There is also a small dowel hole under the bass side of the bridge and an added strap button at the neck heel.
