Vibrato Nub Buster for Bigsby Multiple Colors

So what does it do? You know that protrusive nub on many vibrato’s that restricts the arm/bar from rotating over the pickups? This raises the arm to free up the rotation. Very handy if you’re used to playing other styles of vibrato’s (aka tremolo’s) while simultaneously strumming or picking.

I personally manufacture these on my 3-D Printer from tough PLA filament and are available on Mr. Haney’s Truck of Deals Reverb Shop and GTD Guitar Innovations Reverb Shop.

The VNB has been tested on the following vibrato brands:
-Made in USA Bigsby
-Bigsby Licensed
-Ibanez
-Unbranded generic imported knockoffs. 
All of the above tested were modern parts so I cannot say for sure the VNB will work on older vibrato’s.

Do not expect cosmetic perfection, do expect functionality. These are a work in progress and the design, dimensions and colors are subject to change.

Basic Installation:
Remove the nylon inserted nut, small spring and all washers from the underside of the bracket. Insert the VNB in between the arm and mounting bracket. On the underside, stack the plain washer then the locking washer (both supplied) and secure with your nylon inserted nut (see last 3 pictures). Spin the arm around and adjust the resistance you’re most comfortable with. When the desired resistance is reached, make sure the nut is spinning with the arm to avoid loosening.

Installation Tips:
-It’s up to you if you want to use the red and nylon washers your vibrato most likely already has. Keep in mind the VNB will raise the arm 1/4” and the washers will add to this. I’ve installed the VNB on 7 guitars and have adjusted to the height difference in no time. I have also found the original washers are not necessary, but this is a personal preference.
-It’s worth noting the VNB can be sanded down to accommodate the height you feel most comfortable with while still “Busting the Nub”.
-If the arm is not turning smoothly, a bit of grease on the top and bottom of the VNB may be beneficial. This can be used in the large spring pockets as well to stop a squeak.
-I suppose it’s possible for the #10 size flat washer and locking washer I’m including may not fit over your arm bolt. I have not run into this but a quick trip to your local hardware store will rectify this for some pocket change.
