The Saturnworks 2-channel active mixer with switches mixes two inputs to one output. This version features on/off switches and volume controls for each channel. 

While simple and inexpensive, a downside of passive mixers is that they always have some degree 'cross-talk.' In other words, if you turn one channel down, the other can get slightly softer. Our active mixer features zero cross talk, which means that turning down one channel won't affect the level of the other at all. 

Saturnworks active mixers are designed to mix a wide array of inputs: guitar, bass, synth, drum machines, etc. 

Passive mixers can also have issues with input impedance mismatch. For example, if you try to mix a guitar with a synth (instrument level + line level) with a passive mixer, you may experience volume issues. In some cases, the stronger signal can even cancel out the weaker one. The active 2-channel mixer pedal balances the signals' mismatched impedance, meaning you can various signal types without levels issues or crosstalk.
