Labeled as Antonio Hernandis No.1 Madrid, this is a Made In Japan counterfeit sold by Sherry-Brenner Ltd. in Chicago. The history of which Japanese manufacturer actually made these guitars is unknown.
Sherry-Brenner was at the heart of controversy for years because of these mislabeled guitars.
New, they were beautiful and well playing. That's what got them sold for higher than normal pricing.
It's quite comparable to an upscale Yamaha of that time frame, and a bit of guitar history.
This example is well worn. Splits on the soundboard, with scratches, scuffs, and dings. Some fade on the back. Please look at the pictures carefully. Strap buttons were never on this guitar.
ROSEWOOD SIDES, BACK, FRETBOARD, AND HEAD FACE. CEDAR SOUNDBOARD AND BRACING.
Looks like a bone nut and saddle. The saddle has been filed to lower the action as best as possible.
String height is excellent at the nut.
12th fret low E 5/32" high E is 4/32"
New D'Addario strings installed. Well cleaned, with a conditioned fingerboard.
Tone wise, it is rich and mellow.
Comes with a well preserved and fitted vintage hardshell case. Humidifier, capo, and string winder included.
FREE SHIPPING !!!
Payment is required at the time of purchase or the sale will be voided.
