Peavey 5150 Gold Pin Option JJ Retube(TM) Kit with KT88's & 6L6GC's

Are you looking for a very smooth singing tone with less grit to go with the 6L6GC-KT88 Integrated Quad sound? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the 5150. The preamp section uses five Gold Pin ECC83S's with being a current balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V5.

The KT88-6L6GC Integrated Quad is comprised of carefully matched pairs of tubes that will work together in a 100 watt amp with the KT88's running in the outside sockets and the 6L6GC's running in the inside two sockets. This combination is plug and play with no mods necessary!

The JJ 6L6GC is a classic sounding 6L6 with a big round sound and lots of detail. The JJ KT88's are simply huge sounding with a thunderous low end massive mids and sweet smooth highs. This combination can go from warm and mild to kill on contact!

A note about "V" numbers. Some wise guy at Peavey decided to randomly label the preamp tubes, so the V numbers that are listed on the schematic starting from the first position which is closest to the input jack starts with V1, then V2, V5, V3 and V4. The small minority of players who venture into reading the schematics have discovered this and ask why? Good question... They also ask why we refer to the tubes as V1 thru V5 starting with the preamp tube closest to the input jack or the edge of the amp.

The Answer? It's MUCH easier and less time consuming to explain this to a very small number of players than to explain to hundreds if not thousands of players that you count 1, 2, 5, 3 and 4... So we refer to the V numbers as V1 thru V5!

Unlike other tube venders who charge for low noise tubes, all our tubes meet rigorous tests for low noise, microphonics and nine additional tests.
