Here for sale we have a rare Fender Final Fantasy XIV Stratocaster in Gloss Black finish with Acrylic Resin imitating ‘Crystals of Dark and Light’ as featured in the game. This guitar was made in Japan in 2022, in conjunction with Japanese game developers Square Enix and Fender to celebrate Fender's 75th anniversary and the game's lore. A bolt-on neck construction is featured comprising a Alder body, a Gloss Black finished Maple neck with a Selected Rosewood fingerboard adorned with a Meteor inlay whilst hosting 21 Narrow Tall frets.Black Nickel finished hardware is installed with a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge, Vintage-Style tuning machines and a Single Ply pick gaurd. Chrome hardware is fitted including a 2-point tremolo bridge with block saddles & sealed short post locking tuning machines. A trio of Fender V-Mod single-coil pickups are installed, these are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone & middle/bridge tone control with a Push/Push ‘Limit Break’ control which runs the bridge and middle pickups in series.

Developed in collaboration with the FFXIV team, the limited-edition Final Fantasy XIV Stratocaster captures the originality, style and excitement of one of the world’s most popular online role-playing video games. This incredibly unique Stratocaster is dressed in all black with a body that features translucent sections of blue and purple crystals designed to mirror Crystals of Darkness and Light, key thematic elements of the games.

The FFXIV Stratocaster is highlighted with special game badging in the form of a meteor symbol inlaid into the 12th fret and a numbered neck plate decorated with the Final Fantasy XIV logo. Another special badge featuring both Fender and FFXIV logos adorn the font of the included vintage-style hardshell case. The guitar also comes with a special book containing a numbered certificate and an exclusive FFXIV illustration card made by Square Enix.

The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the Modern ‘C’ profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing easy reach in all registers, this delivers a playing experience which is distinctly modern akin the nature of Final Fantasy. When paired with the Dark Selected Rosewood fingerboard and single Meteor inlay, the result is an instrument which feels exclusive and refined making the player get lost in reverie as the game does wonderfully well. The smooth lines of the Stratocaster body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, with the controls well within reach for tweaking mid-song.

The trio of Fender V-Mod single-coil pickups deliver authentic and traditional Stratocaster tones with a modern secret weapon hidden in the form of the Push/Push Series Mode. Developed by pickup master Tim Shaw, these pickups are voiced specifically for each position, mixing alnico magnet types and stagger pole-pieces to produce powerful yet nuanced tones. The neck is warm and smooth, creating rich buttery tones for your solos and lead lines that have plenty of power to cut through the mix. The middle position is brighter and works fantastically for funky rhythm sounds. The bridge pickup is brighter still without sounding at all brittle or harsh, and with a hot output can drive your amp into a searing overdrive tone for rock rhythm parts. The signature Strat 'honk' can be heard in positions 2 & 4, whilst the Push/Push Series Mode/‘Limit Break’ additional control offers even more tonal options for the player to explore.
