AKG P3S High-Performance Dynamic Microphone

The AKG P3S is a compact, robust dynamic microphone built to withstand the demands of live and studio work. Its lightweight die-cast metal body and integrated ON/OFF switch make it intuitive to handle, while the rugged wire-mesh grille and internal windscreen protect the capsule without compromising sound. This is a working microphone designed for backing vocals, guitar amplifiers, and wind instruments—straightforward in operation and built to last.

Design & Build Quality

Constructed from a sturdy die-cast metal body with a reinforced wire-mesh grille, the P3S resists the bumps and impacts of regular use. The integrated windscreen reduces plosives and handling noise, while the 24-carat gold-plated XLR connector ensures reliable signal transfer and corrosion resistance. An integrated ON/OFF switch allows silent muting without unplugging cables.

Audio Performance

The cardioid polar pattern effectively rejects feedback and ambient noise from the sides and rear, making isolation straightforward in untreated spaces. A frequency response of 40 Hz–20 kHz captures vocal warmth and instrument detail across the spectrum, while the maximum SPL of 144 dB handles loud sources—guitar cabs, drums, brass—without distortion. Sensitivity of 2.5 mV/Pa and 600 Ohms impedance provide a balanced output compatible with standard mixing consoles and audio interfaces.
