The Universal Audio Volt 276 is a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface with a Vintage preamp and an analog 76 Compressor on each of its two channels. Both combo inputs take a microphone, a line source or an instrument, so one person can record vocals and guitar together, or two people can record side by side. The Vintage circuit is inspired by UA's 610 tube preamp and the 76 Compressor is based on UA's 1176 Limiting Amplifier. Conversion runs at up to 24-bit/192 kHz on USB bus power.

Two Channels of Analog Processing

Each channel has its own gain knob, Vintage button, 76 Compressor button and INST button. The compressor presets, all at 6:1, cover smooth vocal leveling (VOC), guitar and bass with longer sustain (GTR) and fast, aggressive compression (FAST). One button sends 48 V phantom power to both XLR inputs.

Monitoring, MIDI and Software

Direct monitoring runs in stereo, with the inputs panned left and right, or in mono with both centered. MIDI in and out on 5-pin DIN connect a keyboard or drum machine, and Volt 276 comes with UA's LUNA recording software and a set of UAD plug-ins.
