The JAM Pedals Delay Llama XTREME is an analog delay pedal that combines the character of traditional bucket-brigade circuitry with expanded creative control. Built around three 3205 BBD chips, it delivers up to 800 milliseconds of analog delay with tap tempo, four onboard presets, and expression control. Four dedicated XTREME modes extend its capabilities beyond conventional delay, introducing pitch modulation, randomized repeats, and sequenced effects while retaining a straightforward, performance-oriented layout.

At its core, the Delay Llama XTREME features Time, Repeats, and Level controls for shaping the delay signal. Three rhythmic subdivisions—eighth notes, quarter notes, and dotted eighth notes—allow repeats to follow different rhythmic patterns. Tap tempo provides quick adjustment during performance, while the HOLD function allows players to push the repeats into oscillation. Selectable true bypass or buffered trails operation provides flexibility for different pedalboard setups, and a dedicated kill-dry function accommodates wet-only signal routing.

The four XTREME modes expand the pedal's range of sounds. Vibrato introduces sine-wave modulation with adjustable depth and speed, while Tape-Age adds randomized pitch fluctuations inspired by aging tape machines. Random mode changes delay time at fixed intervals, creating abrupt pitch movements and rhythmic variations. Pitch-Shift mode offers five interval pairs and five playback patterns, including sequenced pitch effects. These modes can be activated independently of the core delay controls, allowing players to move between traditional repeats and more experimental textures.

Four onboard presets store delay time, repeats, level, subdivision, XTREME mode settings, and XTREME on/off status, with a separate manual mode for direct control. External connections support a passive expression pedal or CV control of delay time, remote tap tempo, and direct preset selection through a compatible TRS controller. The optional JAM Pedals CTRL BOX provides additional access to presets and tap/HOLD functions. Internal trimmers allow adjustment of maximum repeat count and buffered trails decay, giving players further control over the pedal's response.
