The most affordable standard model in the early 1980s SG lineup.
The SG series has been part of Yamahafs lineup as an original model for many years.
Sales of the SG800S began in 1982, and based on the serial number, we believe this instrument was manufactured in 1981.

It features a maple top and mahogany back, with a set-neck construction featuring a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard; the fingerboard inlays consist of simple dot position markers.

It is also compatible with the Bi-Sound System (coil tap), allowing each pickup to be played as a single-coil by pulling up the respective tone control, offering a wide variety of sound options.
The tip of the headstock is slightly chipped, and there are numerous scratches and dents scattered throughout the body.
The pickguard is missing, and the hardware has a dull finish.
There are paint imperfections near the neck joint, and the topcoat has yellowed throughout.
Although it shows signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is good.
