Up for sale is a Gretsch TW-100T Traveling Wilburys Electric Guitar from the 1987–1990 era in White with the original graphic design.
The guitar is used but remains in good, clean cosmetic and playing condition, especially considering its age.
It shows some normal signs of previous use, including light scratches and scuffs on the body and neck. There are also some very light finish cracks/checking around the neck heel. These are confined to the finish and do not extend into the wood or affect the structural integrity of the guitar.
The most noticeable cosmetic wear is a group of finish nicks on the back of the headstock. These are cosmetic only and do not affect the function or playability of the instrument.
Overall, the guitar still presents very nicely and retains the distinctive original Traveling Wilburys graphics that make these guitars immediately recognizable.
The original gig bag is not included. The guitar will ship with a standard-size aftermarket gig bag.
About This Model
The Gretsch TW-100T was produced in connection with the Traveling Wilburys, the legendary supergroup featuring George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne.
Produced around the late 1980s and beginning of the 1990s, these guitars are instantly recognizable for their unusual body shape and distinctive Traveling Wilburys graphics.
Rather than being positioned as one of Gretsch's traditional high-end hollow or semi-hollow instruments, the TW series was an affordable and fun tie-in to one of the era's most remarkable musical collaborations.
Today, the appeal of these guitars extends beyond their original novelty. Surviving examples have become interesting pieces of Traveling Wilburys, Gretsch, and late-'80s music memorabilia, while still remaining playable instruments.
The bold original graphics are a huge part of the personality of the TW-100T and make it a particularly fun guitar for a collection, music room, studio, or display.
