Sire became famous for releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller. (Titles omitted)

The quality of the guitars and basses they manufacture is extremely high, and they have gained widespread support not only from Marcus Miller fans but also from a broader audience.

This is the latest model, the "New Generation" V7 Alder-5, based on the classic JB bass.

While maintaining a traditional style, it incorporates modern features throughout, such as active circuitry, Luminlay, newly adopted stainless steel frets, and lightweight hardware.

The body is made of North American Alder.

The neck is made of 34-inch scale Hard Maple, and the fingerboard is made of Ebony.

The binding and block inlays give it a vintage-like feel.

The fingerboard edges are smoothly rounded with an Edgeless finish, making it suitable for players who prefer smooth fingering.

Most players will likely have a positive impression of this feature.

The fingerboard radius is 9.5 inches, in line with modern styles.

Furthermore, the frets are made of stainless steel, offering superior durability and a fast attack.

The pickups are the Marcus Super-J Revolution Pickup set, specially set up for this instrument.

They deliver the rich midrange characteristic of an alder body, along with a tight, clear sound.

The preamp is a Marcus Heritage-3.

The 3-band EQ with a middle frequency allows for detailed sound shaping.

Based on a rich midrange, the sound features tight, low-end tones and sharp, sparkling treble, reminiscent of Marcus Miller's playing style.

It is particularly well-suited for percussive slap techniques and 16th-note fingerstyle playing where attack is crucial.

This bass is a perfect match not only for classic styles like Marcus Miller's, but also for styles that require practical control over the functionality of an active bass.
