Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB Nighthawk Pickup

The SH-4 JB Nighthawk is a high-output bridge humbucker engineered for aggressive, articulate tone with clarity that cuts through dense mixes. Hand-built in Santa Barbara using premium materials, this pickup delivers tight lows, punchy midrange, and controlled treble response—ideal for rock, metal, and fusion players demanding precision without mud.

Tone & Harmonic Character

An Alnico 5 bar magnet paired with a nickel-silver baseplate produces a focused, bright response centered at 5.5 kHz resonant peak, giving the JB Nighthawk presence without harshness. The 16.4–16.6k ohms DC resistance generates strong output suitable for overdriven and distorted applications while maintaining note definition.

Wiring Flexibility & Installation

The included 4-conductor lead wire supports series, parallel, and coil-split wiring configurations, allowing players to voice the pickup across multiple tonal ranges without soldering changes. Vacuum-wax potting eliminates microphonic feedback and ensures stable, consistent performance under stage conditions.
