Early-1970s Ibanez 2350G Gold, made in Japan and dating from approximately 1971–72. This is a pre-serial example from Ibanez's earliest Japanese Les Paul copy era. The 2350G is documented in period Ibanez catalogs as the Gold version of the 2350, with a bolt-on neck and classic open-book-style headstock.

This example has a particularly striking aged Gold finish extending over the body, back, neck and rear of the headstock. The finish appears original based on its appearance, consistency and aging, although I cannot document this with absolute certainty.

The guitar retains much of its early Japanese vintage character, including its period H.T.F. bridge with nylon saddles.

The electronics have been modified over the years. The guitar is currently fitted with a Gibson 490R neck pickup dated 1/16/2013 and a Gibson 490T bridge pickup dated 3/11/2013. Both pickups are clearly identified by their Gibson factory labels. Some of the wiring has also been updated, while some older electronic components appear to remain.

The guitar is in very good vintage condition for its age, showing normal finish wear, scratches, marks and hardware oxidation consistent with a 50+ year-old instrument. The pickguard is missing. Please examine the detailed photos carefully, as they are an important part of the description.

The Gibson 490R/490T pickup set makes this a particularly appealing vintage player, while the guitar retains the look and character of an early pre-serial Japanese Ibanez.

Includes the pictured hardshell case, which shows age and wear. I am not representing the case as factory original.

A distinctive and uncommon early Ibanez 2350G — combining early Japanese Les Paul character, an unusual aged Gold finish and player-friendly Gibson pickup upgrades.
