TITLE:

Gibson BurstBucker 2 Humbucker - Nickel - Alnico II, Unpotted, 2-Conductor - Original Case

DESCRIPTION:

Gibson BurstBucker Type 2 "1959 Replica" humbucker with nickel cover, in its original Gibson clear retail case with the spec card (Type 2 and Nickel marked).

The BurstBucker is Gibson's replica of the late-'50s "Patent Applied For" humbucker from the original Les Paul Standard. It uses an Alnico II magnet, intentionally unbalanced coil windings, no wax potting, and vintage braided two-conductor wire - the recipe behind the airy cleans and creamy overdrive these are known for. Type 2 is the medium-output version and works in either the neck or bridge position.

New old stock. Comes in the original Gibson case with the spec card - earlier packaging from Gibson's Elgin, IL accessories division.

Please note: as a 2-conductor, unpotted pickup, it can't be coil-split and can squeal at very high gain and volume. That's the vintage design this pickup is built around.
