Introduced in 1942, the J-45 is one of the most iconic and enduring models in Gibson's production, as well as the best-selling round-shoulder dreadnought in the brand's history. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" from the outset, it has established itself as a benchmark for generations of musicians due to its tonal balance, natural warmth, and extraordinary versatility.

The body combines solid mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, ensuring a full, balanced sound rich in harmonics. The neck, also made of mahogany, features a comfortable and smooth SlimTaper profile designed to provide structural stability and a natural grip along the entire fingerboard.

The fingerboard, made of rosewood, is equipped with 20 standard frets and is adorned with understated and elegant Dot inlays in mother-of-pearl.

This J-45 Standard incorporates the new Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ amplification system, developed exclusively for Gibson. The active system utilizes two sensors installed on the internal plate of the bridge, each paired with a dedicated preamp, to deliver a natural, full, and dynamic amplified sound, enhancing the character of the instrument without altering its acoustic response.
