The Squier ’51 is an inventive Fender-style hybrid, combining a contoured Stratocaster-style body with a Telecaster-style maple neck and headstock, an oversized pickguard, and a top-loading hardtail bridge. Its streamlined controls pair a master volume with a distinctive three-position rotary pickup selector. This 2005 Vintage Blonde example retains its neck single-coil while upgrading the bridge position with a Bill Lawrence L500XL Hot dual-blade humbucker. The high-output replacement delivers powerful, articulate sound with plenty of attack, while the retained push-pull coil split provides a leaner single-coil option for additional tonal versatility.
