Here for sale we have a Fender Custom Shop Early '59 Stratocaster Electric Guitar in Trans Cobalt Blue NOS finish. Made in the USA in 2011, this guitar features a '56 Strat Alder body, and a one-piece 21-fret Birdseye AA Maple neck and fingerboard. Other appointments include Gold hardware, Medium Jumbo frets, a Vintage-style 6-saddle tremolo bridge, vintage-style split-post tuners, and a set of Handwound Custom Shop 50's Strat Single Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, tone 1, tone 2, and a 5-way pickup selector.
The Birdseye AA Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with a 'V' profile which feels slightly larger than some of Fender's modern necks. This delivers a playing experience which is distinct and somewhat vintage-inspired. When paired with the handsome figuring of the Birdseye Maple, the result is an instrument which feels exclusive and personal- especially when considering the unusual one-piece construction of the neck and fingerboard. The smooth lines of the Stratocaster body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, with the controls well within reach for tweaking mid-song.
The trio of hand wound Custom Shop '50s Stratocaster single-coil pickups deliver the legendary tone that has kept Fender on the musical map for 7 decades. Warmth and clarity is present in the neck position, with a round, bell-like chime that is perfect for lead lines and solos. The middle pickup is bright with a smooth midrange that is well suited to funk genres. The bridge position provides the bite and twang required to put your playing right at the front of the mix whilst remaining highly sensitive to the way you play the string. The in-between positions deliver the famous Strat 'honk', with plenty of articulation without being too sharp. This is a truly fantastic instrument that will bring its new owner countless hours of playing enjoyment.
