For sale is my Gibson Les Paul Junior Billie Joe Armstrong signature model, professionally refinished and reliced by Angela Arnott.

Early 2006 / First-Year Example

This is an early-production 2006 Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior, from the first year of the Gibson BJA signature model. The original Gibson leopard-print lined hard case is also included, which is a particularly distinctive feature of these early BJA models.

The guitar has been given a beautifully executed vintage-style sunburst finish and tasteful relicing, transforming the appearance into something much closer to a well-loved vintage Les Paul Junior. The work has been carried out throughout the guitar, including the body, neck and headstock, and the result is extremely convincing.

It also benefits from a number of significant upgrades:

• Bare Knuckle Mississippi Queen P-90 – a premium replacement for the original pickup, giving the Junior a superbly open, articulate and dynamic P-90 voice.

• Upgraded wiring loom with quality components.

• The slimmer Billie Joe Armstrong neck profile, which makes this particularly appealing to players who love the sound and simplicity of vintage Juniors but prefer a slimmer, faster neck.

• Original Gibson hardware retained.

• Original Gibson hard case with the distinctive leopard-print lining included.

This is an unusual opportunity to get the best of several worlds: the character and simplicity of a Gibson Les Paul Junior, the slimmer and very playable Billie Joe Armstrong neck, a high-quality Bare Knuckle P-90 and upgraded electronics, combined with a professionally executed vintage-style finish and relic.

It should appeal equally to Green Day/Billie Joe Armstrong fans and to players who simply love the look, feel and sound of a vintage Les Paul Junior but want a slimmer neck and some carefully chosen modern upgrades.

The guitar is being sold as a professionally refinished and reliced instrument, so this is not an original-finish collector's example. The refinishing is an intentional part of the guitar's character and has been carried out by Angela Arnott.
