Up for sale is a rare 60th Anniversary Edition (2006) 40-watt Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in solid cosmetic condition and 100% gig-ready shape. Featuring Fender’s 60th Anniversary rear chassis badge, this special edition combines classic 6L6 headroom, rich spring reverb, and collectible status with full internal bench service.

While stock Hot Rod Deluxes are legendary workhorses, factory units are notorious for running extremely hot and developing thermal trace failures on the main PCB over time. This unit has been bench-serviced and upgraded with essential reliability modifications to permanently eliminate those factory failure points, lowering the noise floor and ensuring rock-solid dependability on stage or in the studio.

Bench-Serviced & Reliability Upgrades Performed:

• 5W Cement Resistor Upgrade (R78/R79): The failure-prone stock low-wattage 16V zener and dropping resistors have been replaced with heavy-duty 5W ceramic cement resistors, elevated off the PCB trace. This fixes the severe heat discoloration and trace peeling typical of Hot Rods. They were done before any damage was done to the PCB as preventative measures.
• Filter & Bias Cap Refresh: Factory power supply filter caps upgraded to high-grade F&T capacitors, eliminating idle supply hum and tightening up low-end transient punch.
• Input Jack Upgrade: Factory plastic PCB-mounted input jacks upgraded to heavy-duty, chassis-grounded Metal Switchcraft jacks. No more broken input connections or crackling jacks mid-gig.
• Plate Load Resistor Check: High-voltage plate load resistors checked and upgraded to flameproof metal oxide units to prevent hiss, popping, and thermal drift.
• Full Bench Tune-Up: All pots, switches, and jacks flushed and cleaned with DeoxIT; bias set accurately for extended tube life; tube sockets cleaned and retensioned.
