Headway is a long-established company in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, that produces high-quality acoustic guitars using its own unique manufacturing methods and methodologies. Since its brand debut in 1977, it has been supported by many acoustic guitar enthusiasts and musicians and is considered one of the leading brands of Japanese-made guitars. This particular instrument is a used model from the 2010s that uses the traditional Japanese "urushi-nuri" (lacquer) finish. It features a Sitka spruce top, rosewood sides and back, a one-piece mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, diamond square fingerboard inlays, Gotoh tuners, and a black pickguard.
