Charvel Fusion Custom 1990 - Desert Crackle
Up for sale is a 1990 Charvel Fusion Custom, made in Japan, finished in the factory Desert Crackle finish with matching headstock.
The Fusion Custom is a little different from the earlier Charvel Model Series guitars. It uses a shorter 24.75" scale, 24 frets and has a very comfortable, compact feel.
The original Jackson pickups have been replaced with a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge and Hot Rails in both the middle and neck positions.
CONDITION
This guitar is very clean for its age.
The Desert Crackle finish still has a great gloss and continues across the front, back and matching headstock. The cream/ivory colour with the darker crackle pattern gives this guitar a really distinctive look.
The maple neck and rosewood fingerboard are also very clean.
There is one small chip on the edge of the headstock, clearly shown in the photos, along with some normal age-related wear on the hardware.
I’ve tried to photograph the guitar honestly and show the condition as accurately as possible.
Additional photos are available upon request.

WHY THIS ONE STANDS OUT
The Fusion Custom already feels different from the earlier Model Series Charvels because of the shorter scale and 24-fret neck.
Then there’s the Desert Crackle finish.
It covers the body front and back and continues onto the matching headstock, which really completes the look.
The Duncan pickup combination gives the guitar plenty of output, with the Invader in the bridge and Hot Rails in the middle and neck.
It’s a very clean Japanese Charvel in one of the more interesting finishes from the period, with a pickup setup that makes it ready to play.
