For decades, Ibanez has been a trusted choice for demanding guitarists, with an approach firmly focused on performance, ergonomics and innovation. With its Iron Label series, the Japanese brand takes this philosophy even further, developing instruments specifically designed for modern music and Metal: understated, highly efficient guitars engineered to remain precise even when pushed into the lowest tuning ranges.

The RGRTBB21-BKF is a perfect example of this philosophy. Most importantly, this is a true baritone guitar, rather than a standard RG simply fitted with heavier strings to accommodate a lower tuning. Its 28" (712 mm) scale length makes a genuine difference: the strings retain substantial tension in low tunings, providing greater precision, definition and firmness under the fingers. Factory-tuned to B Standard (B-E-A-D-F#-B), this Ibanez feels completely at home in the lowest registers and is a particularly formidable instrument for Metal, Djent, Progressive Metal, modern Metal and any style built around massive riffs that require exceptional precision.

The neck-through construction further reinforces this philosophy. The neck runs continuously through the entire body, providing an exceptionally smooth transition into the higher frets, while the Nitro Wizard profile retains the speed and comfort that are such an integral part of the Ibanez DNA. The ebony fingerboard adds a crisp attack and excellent note definition, perfectly suited to the precise and incisive playing that low tunings demand.

But it is when you plug the RGRTBB21 in that its character truly comes to life. The pair of DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers is a particularly well-judged choice for this type of instrument. Their dynamic response, precise attack and excellent low-end definition help keep riffs perfectly articulate, even with high levels of gain. Where a standard guitar can quickly become loose or undefined when tuned significantly lower, this baritone RG maintains a tight, articulate and highly aggressive low end. The result is both massive and precise, with enough dynamics to preserve the nuances of your playing.

The Ibanez Mono Rail bridge also contributes to this pursuit of precision by mechanically isolating each string, while the Gotoh MG-T locking tuners provide reliable tuning stability and make string changes easier. The whole instrument is remarkably coherent down to the smallest details: every component is designed to serve stability, precision and power.

The RGRTBB21 is therefore aimed primarily at guitarists looking for the feel and possibilities of a genuine Metal baritone guitar. Its 28" scale length, B Standard tuning, neck-through construction and DiMarzio D Activator pickups form an exceptionally coherent combination for producing powerful, tight and highly defined low-end tones. This is a guitar made for huge riffs, low tunings and modern high-gain sounds, while retaining the fast, comfortable playability that has played such a major role in the reputation of the RG series.

A true baritone guitar, designed from the ground up for Metal and low tunings, transforming the classic RG concept into a genuine riff machine!
