2024 Gibson Custom 1942 Banner LG-2 in Vintage Sunburst.

A beautiful, exceptionally clean example of Gibson's recreation of the legendary wartime-era LG-2. This guitar has been very lightly used and remains in excellent overall condition, with a beautiful, exceptionally clean finish and virtually no signs of wear.

The 1942 Banner LG-2 captures the character and appointments of Gibson's early-1940s small-body acoustics while benefiting from the craftsmanship and materials of Gibson's modern Custom Shop. The result is a remarkably responsive and expressive instrument with the dry, woody character, clarity, and projection that make these small-bodied Gibsons so special.

The thermally aged red spruce top and mahogany body give this guitar an exceptionally open and mature voice, with excellent balance across the strings and plenty of warmth and definition. It has that unmistakable Gibson small-body character while still offering impressive headroom and projection.

Condition

The guitar is in near-mint condition overall.

There is one modification to disclose for complete transparency. There is a strap pin on the heel of the neck. The original location was professionally wood-filled, and the strap pin was subsequently relocated to the end/tip of the heel. The filled area is visible in the close-up photograph included in the listing.

This is a cosmetic modification only and does not affect the guitar's playability or structural integrity. There are no other notable condition issues that I'm aware of.

The guitar otherwise presents beautifully and is an excellent example for someone looking for a clean 1942 Banner LG-2.
