For sale is an exceptionally well-preserved Fender Custom Shop Custom ’59 Stratocaster from the rare “Custom Edition 2000” series.

The guitar was built at the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California in late 2000. The original Fender Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity is dated December 14, 2000 and identifies the guitar as a “Custom ’59 Stratocaster”, serial number FE084.

The neck plate is additionally engraved “Custom Edition 2000”.

One of the most interesting features of this particular guitar is its beautifully figured Birdseye / Flame Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. The neck heel carries a large “JC” stamp associated with John Cruz from his early years at the Fender Custom Shop.

To be absolutely clear: this guitar is NOT being offered or represented as a John Cruz Masterbuilt instrument. However, the JC stamp makes it an especially interesting example from the early Custom Shop era and provides a fascinating connection to John Cruz before his later career as a Fender Master Builder.

The guitar is in exceptionally clean and well-preserved condition considering its age.

The original electronics are still installed, including three Fender Custom Shop single-coil pickups, cloth-covered wiring and CTS pots with period-correct date codes from 2000.
