The limited-edition MT1-ADZ-BL/R has arrived, featuring an outstanding combination of a Black Oil finish and Red Anodized pickguard!

Unlike a conventional solid black finish that completely covers the wood grain, one of the greatest attractions of this model is its natural appearance, with the original grain of the alder remaining visible beneath the Black Oil finish.

The character of the grain changes depending on the angle and lighting, giving the guitar an organic appearance despite its predominantly black aesthetic. Another unique pleasure of an oil finish is the way its sheen and color gradually evolve with use, allowing the instrument to develop a character all its own over time.

The way the black hardware is incorporated into this model is also particularly impressive.

Rather than using matte black throughout the entire guitar, glossy black hardware is used for the tuning machines, bridge, and control components. The subdued, wood-like texture of the Black Oil finish contrasts beautifully with the sheen of the metal parts, creating clear differences in texture even within the same black color scheme.

Paired with this is the Red Anodized pickguard, a distinctive feature of this limited-edition model.

Black and red is already a bold combination, but rather than simply adding bright red as an accent color, the metallic texture unique to the anodized pickguard gives the guitar a rugged, hard-edged character.

The visible grain beneath the Black Oil finish, the glossy black hardware, and the Red Anodized pickguard that changes its appearance as it catches the light all have distinctly different textures. This combination gives the guitar a powerful black-and-red aesthetic without ever making it look cheap or overly flashy.

A matching headstock is also featured, creating a cohesive appearance from the body all the way to the headstock. While the Blue Anodized version offers a cool and sharp impression, this red version has a more aggressive, rock-oriented character.

The neck also has a smooth, natural feel, offering the sense of connection with the wood that is unique to an oil finish.

The body is constructed from two-piece alder, paired with a maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard.

This is a classic wood combination for a TL-style guitar, combining the well-balanced midrange of alder with the clear, immediate response of a maple neck and the cohesive tonal character of an Indian rosewood fingerboard.

The neck features a comfortable C shape with a 310R fingerboard radius. Combined with Jescar FW55090NS frets, it provides modern playability suitable for everything from chord work to lead playing with extensive string bending.

The pickups are the newly developed Awake-T4 and Awake-T5 models introduced for 2026.

The neck pickup uses an Alnico 4 magnet, while the bridge pickup uses Alnico 5. The neck position delivers body and richness while retaining a solid core, while the bridge provides a clearer attack and crisp articulation.

While maintaining the responsive character expected from a TL-style guitar, the sound never becomes excessively thin and retains a strong high-mid presence when driven. It also responds exceptionally well to picking dynamics, making it a versatile and easy-to-handle sound across a wide variety of musical styles.
