Use a scale that has 64th increments to measure the distance from the bottom of the string to the top of the fret

12th fret. Figure A shows a minimum value of 3/32” (2.38 mm). Figure B shows a maximum value of 7/64”

(2.78 mm). The measurement must be within this range.

Use a scale that has 64th increments to measure the distance from the bottom of the string to the top of the fret

(1.98 mm). The measurement must be within this range.

1. Place a capo just above the first fret

2. Depress the “E” Bass string just below the 12th fret.

3. Check from the top of the 6th fret to the bottom of the string for spacing of .004” - .010” (.10mm-.25mm)
