Electro-Voice EV 666 Vintage Dynamic Cardioid Microphone — Very Good Condition

Up for sale is a vintage EV 666 dynamic cardioid microphone — a broadcast/PA classic sometimes nicknamed “the Sound of the Beast” for its aggressive, characterful tone. Great for vocals, kick drum, or that lo-fi vintage sound.

Condition: Very good overall, some light cosmetic scratches on the body from normal use. Original manufacturer’s sticker (Electro-Voice, Inc., Buchanan, Michigan) are fully legible and in good shape.

Function: Fully functional, no modifications. original internals, no XLR conversion performed.

Impedance: Switchable 50 / 150 / 250 ohm (confirmed on the mic’s own label).

Cable: Comes with the original EV/Canon UA-3-11 cable, the correct factory cable for this mic, not a generic replacement. Note: it’s EV’s original locking-pin style, not standard XLR, so you’ll need the correct adapter to run into modern XLR gear.

Included:

• Microphone

• Original Canon UA-3-11 cable

• Zippered soft case

Price: $666 firm

Notes: Selling because I’m not doing much recording these days would rather this go to someone who’ll actually put it to work than sit in a closet. No known service history or exact age; selling as-is, tested and working.
