Beautiful vintage 1952 Levin Model 2 Solist archtop, serial number 272520, made in Gothenburg, Sweden. Comes with a case!!

The Solist was one of Levin’s higher-grade archtop guitars, and this example showcases the elegant workmanship and distinctive European styling for which these Swedish-made instruments are known.

The guitar has a wonderfully aged natural finish with extensive authentic finish checking that gives the spruce top tremendous vintage character. The checking is in the finish and is not structural cracking.

Visually, this is a particularly striking Levin, with its large 17-inch archtop body, beautifully figured back, elaborate pearl-inlaid Levin headstock, large fingerboard inlays, multiple binding, bound f-holes, floating adjustable bridge, and distinctive trapeze tailpiece.

The guitar has received a fresh professional setup and new strings. It is ready to play.

The pickguard has been replaced, and the third-fret fingerboard inlay appears to be a replacement. These are disclosed for accuracy and can be seen in the photographs.

Condition

This is a vintage instrument that is approximately 74 years old and displays the wonderful character expected from a guitar of this age. The top has extensive finish checking/crazing, along with normal small marks and signs of use. The finish checking is cosmetic and should not be confused with structural cracks.
