2000 Collings 0002H SB Acoustic Guitar

Beautiful 2000 Collings 0002H SB acoustic guitar in a rich dark two-tone sunburst finish, complete with its deluxe fitted TKL hard case and a copy of the factory specification confirmation from Collings.

An especially desirable feature of this guitar is that it retains its original tag personally signed by the late Bill Collings, founder and owner of Collings Guitars. This adds a wonderful connection to the early history of the company and makes the instrument particularly appealing to Collings enthusiasts and collectors.

The Collings factory specifications confirm a Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, and a Honduran mahogany neck.

The guitar plays exceptionally well, with comfortable low action and an easy feel throughout the neck. The sound is beautifully balanced, articulate and responsive, with excellent note separation and clarity.

The 12-fret 000 body, 25 1/2-inch scale and generous 1 13/16-inch nut make this an especially appealing guitar for fingerstyle playing. Its pre-war scalloped X-bracing adds warmth, openness and projection while maintaining the precision and definition for which Collings guitars are known.

The small pale areas visible on the back appear within the wood grain beneath the finish, rather than as surface wear or scratches. Wood is naturally porous, and variations in how it absorbs stain and finish can create subtle differences in color. The finish feels smooth, with no corresponding roughness or indentation. The photographs accentuate these variations, making them appear more pronounced than they are in person. It is something you hardly notice in person.

Condition

The guitar is in excellent condition for its age and has been played, enjoyed, never taken out. It shows normal very light cosmetic wear, very minor surface marks and scratches consistent with a quality instrument more than 25 years old.

The finish, bridge, neck and other areas have been photographed closely so the condition can be accurately evaluated. Please review all photographs carefully. Inspection and an in-person playing trial are welcome prior to purchase.
