The Fender Buddy Guy Standard Stratocaster is hard to mistake for anything else. The black finish with oversized white polka dots is pure Buddy Guy and gives the guitar the same bold, instantly recognisable look as the instruments he has played on stage for years.
The alder body and one-piece maple neck keep the feel familiar and unmistakably Strat-like. The Soft “V” neck profile has a little more shape in the hand than a standard modern Fender neck, while the 9.5-inch radius and medium-jumbo frets make it comfortable for both rhythm playing and bends higher up the neck.
The three single-coils give you the clear, lively sound you expect from a Strat, with plenty of sparkle in the neck and middle positions and enough bite at the bridge for blues leads, rhythm work and more driven tones. It is a simple, direct setup that suits the guitar perfectly.
With its vintage-style tremolo, classic five-way switching and supplied deluxe gig bag, this Buddy Guy Stratocaster is a proper player’s guitar with a lot of personality. It has the sound and feel of a familiar Strat, but with a look that stands out immediately.
