This is a 1973 (first year) Black USA Gibson L6-S guitar with a genuine Dusenburg Les Trem II tremolo and Sperzel locking tuners. It has a Ebony fretboard with 24 frets and a brass nut. It comes with its original Gibson hard shell case. It still looks pretty good. This guitar is definitely a player guitar, as it shows signs of it's age 53. But it is rock solid with no cracks anywhere. The neck joint is very stable and clean, as shown in the pictures. It has a six-way vari-switch which provides some various in-phase and out-of-phase setting in addition to the standard settings. It has a treble cut knob and a midrange cut knob. The truss rod works well and the neck is straight with good action. A great guitar and fun to play.

The serial number is 140438 with MADE IN USA Stamp. This indicates 1970 to 1975 date of manufacture. This serial number did not include year data at that time, according to the Gibson dating website. The first year of manufacture for the Gibson L6-S was 1973. The pot numbers are 1377335, which indicate 1973.

I have added Dunlop dual use locking strap buttons. However, the guitar will not fit in the case with the side-mount strap button on it, so it will be removed for shipping. The original hard shell case has a purple interior that is in good shape. The outside of the case shows wear and has some black spray paint down the middle of the top. Having said that, the case is highly functional with all latches and hinges in good working order. The case is not fraying in any way. Just some of the stitching work thin in places. The Tolex is not torn. The case is missing one chrome foot on the bottom side.

If you are looking for one of these guitars, this one adds a brand new tremolo, locking tuners and a original Gibson hard shell case (not an easy item to find for this guitar these days). I will include the original stop bar and hardware.
