Listed by Nick’s Drum Gear – Collector-Grade Cymbals, Professionally Curated.

Sabian HHX Complex O-Zone Crash

The 17" Sabian HHX Complex O-Zone Crash combines the dark, complex voice of the HHX Complex series with six large O-Zone openings for a fast, trashy and explosive response.

Sabian combines HH and HHX hammering techniques in the Complex series to emphasize lower frequencies and tonal complexity. The O-Zone design adds an aggressive trash character while maintaining the smooth attack and sophisticated tonal character associated with HHX Complex cymbals.

At 17", this is a quick, expressive effects crash that provides a dramatically different voice alongside conventional crashes.

Nick’s Notes

The HHX Complex O-Zone occupies an interesting space between a conventional crash and a dedicated effects cymbal. The six large openings create the fast, trashy response, while the HHX Complex construction provides the darker tonal foundation and complex overtones.

The 17" diameter makes this particularly useful when you want an immediate explosive accent without the extended sustain of a larger effects crash.

A Note About HHX Complex Hammering

The highly irregular surface, deep hammer marks, tonal variations and raw-looking character around the bell are intentional characteristics of Sabian's HHX Complex manufacturing process.

HHX Complex cymbals combine multiple hammering techniques to create their dark, complex tonal character. Individual hammer impressions can vary considerably in depth, shape and appearance across the cymbal.

These manufacturing characteristics are not dents, damage or signs of previous playing. The detailed photos are provided so the buyer can see the exact hammering and individual character of this cymbal.

NDG Unplayed Condition

At Nick's Drum Gear, unplayed means the cymbal has never been owned or played by an end user. Many of our cymbals originate from factory cymbal packs, giving them a known history from day one.

Because they do not include a manufacturer's warranty, they are represented as unplayed rather than new.
