1993 Gibson ES-135 – Cherry Red – P-100s – Trapeze Tailpiece – Gibson Gig Bag
**1993 Gibson ES-135 – Cherry Red – P-100s – Trapeze Tailpiece – Gibson Gig Bag**
Killer early-production 1993 Gibson ES-135 in a beautiful Cherry Red finish.
The ES-135 occupies a really cool place in Gibson's semi-hollow lineup, combining the classic single-cut Florentine silhouette and airy response of Gibson's vintage hollowbody designs with a lightweight internal center block for additional sustain and feedback resistance.
This early-'90s example features the desirable original-style configuration with dual Gibson P-100 pickups, Tune-o-matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece. The P-100s retain the familiar soapbar look and character of a P-90 while using a stacked design for reduced hum.
At 7.93 lbs, this one has a comfortable, lively feel and makes an excellent player's vintage Gibson.

**CONDITION:**
Overall, this is a good-looking and solid player's example with considerably less cosmetic wear than many 30+ year-old instruments.
The Cherry Red finish remains vibrant and glossy with typical surface swirling, light finish checking and scattered minor nicks and dings. There is some age-related discoloration to the binding along with areas of finish separation/delamination where the neck and fingerboard meet. Please see the detailed photos for the best representation of these areas.
The frets show only light wear and have plenty of life remaining.
There is a slight rise/bow to the fingerboard plane in the upper register, becoming noticeable around the 15th fret and continuing toward the end of the 22-fret fingerboard. The Tune-o-matic bridge is currently adjusted near the bottom of its available range. Despite this, the guitar is currently set up with comfortably low action and plays well throughout the neck.
We want to disclose this clearly rather than oversell the condition, but in its present setup it remains a very enjoyable, great-sounding player's instrument.
**WHY THIS ONE IS COOL:**
The early ES-135 has a personality all its own. The combination of the lightweight center block, P-100 soapbars and trapeze tailpiece gives it a response that sits somewhere between Gibson's fully hollow instruments and the more solid-feeling ES-335 family.
It's lightweight for a Gibson semi-hollow at 7.93 lbs, has a comfortable neck measuring .80" at the nut and 1.00" at the 12th fret, and the original-style P-100/trapeze configuration gives it unmistakable early-'90s ES-135 character.
A fantastic choice for someone looking for a genuine USA-made '90s Gibson that's already broken in and ready to be played without paying collector-grade money.
**Includes Gibson gig bag.**
